Frequently Asked Questions
How would you draw my pet?
I work from photos, taken by the pet owner
or me. I require that the
images of the pet are at least a 4 by 6” print, showing full body or
just the head of the pet being drawn. Because of the minute detail
found in cats and smaller animals, I need to be able to see the animal close-up
to render those details. Digital camera photos must be taken with a
camera, not with a phone. For more photo requirements, please click
here.
What materials do you use to draw with?
I use colored pencils and textured
paper to draw on. I use Berol Prismacolor
pencils and Faber-Castell pencils. The reason I use textured paper
is that the texture allows for many layers of colored pencil to be laid down
without becoming glossy.
How much do you charge?
My pricing is comparable to many other artists who
do the same kind of work. I
do not charge by the number of pets in a photo; I charge by the
size of the drawing. All pricing includes a mat. For more details
about my pricing, please click here.
How long does it take to complete a drawing?
Normally, it takes two weeks
to complete a drawing. It is usually
less.
But as we all know, things can happen and get interrupted.
Do I have to meet you to receive my finished drawing?
No. I can package it up and send it out, shipping will be figured into
the pricing. I always buy insurance on the package in case of damaging
in the mail. If you want to meet locally to pick up your drawing, arrangements
can be made to do so.
